10. Hot Rod Girl (1956) – I’m not sure if the film is intended as an anti-hot rodding film or not. The plot is not many boys his brother died, the city wanted to stop the hot rodding and the kids still want to race. Since 1956 this should be a good game of chicken (it’s legal in 50 Hollywood). In the film there are some Ford 32 (actually a lot of Ford 32), a 56 Chevy, Ford 56, 55 T-bird, and 88 Olds.
9. Death Proof (2007) – The first part of this movie may be a bit tedious, usually just a bunch of girls talking and drinking in a bar (the bar is not even a wild party, but a group of three women drink), then it is good, with 71 Chevy Nova used as a weapon and then catch up with the Charger 69 and 70 Vanishing Point Challenger. The film is meant to feel like a 70-Slasher movie crossed with Vanishing Point. If you are a Mopar man check this out!
8. Road Racers (1994) – The film is called Road Racers, but it is just a short race in the film, and two chase. The film opens with a chase between 56 Chevy being chased by police all have a 56 Buick Rockabilly badass song! There is violence mechanic (not a mechanic Grease violence, but as 90 of the Outsiders with a twist of humor), there are a lot of rockabilly music, Glen Glenn, The Adkins and Johnny Reno!
7. Thunder Road (1958) – Let me tell you, I can say it all … Actually, let’s let Robert Mitchum told the story that he can do better. The film stars Mitchum running Moonshine in Tennessee in the 50′s and try not to hit revenuers are. It has some crazy car chase with a 50 Ford Coupe, 57 Ford Fairlane, a 56 Chevy that can solve the undercover car bumper and a song about the movie brought in by Mitchum himself!
6. Dazed and Confused (1993) – I’m Dazed and Confused for so long it’s not true! Unfortunately, the number who are not in this movie (it’s suppose to be and Jimmy Paige, but not plants). This film is a kind of version 70 of the American Graffiti, except that the first night of summer does not last and the main character is entered high school. In any case, he is the pursuit of between 64 and 72 Buick Chevy truck, 70 454 Chevelle SS, 70 GTO Judge, Ford Maverick, Oldsmobile 37 and 74 Trans Am!
5. Crypt story: King of the Road (1992) – Okay, I lied this is not a movie, it is an episode from the series Tales from the Crypt horror HBOS. Why is this movie on the list? WHY NOT ON THE LIST? When the episode opens, we are greeted with a yellow 69 Chevelle SS 69 street racing red Dodge Charger with rocking songs by Warren Zevon. Then we get a chase with Chevelle SS and a police car and at the end of the road race with vs. Chevy Chevelle SS 57 Gasser! There is a great soundtrack of Warren Zevon, but only one of the “Roll with the punches” song “Bad Roads, Roads wretched” others are only found as a cover by a band called Child Rebel released.
4. Hot Rod (1979) – This film is hard to find, it’s made for TV in 1979. This is probably the most Drag Racing scene from the movie I’ve seen! This film has a street race between 65 Plymouth Hemi and 69 Olds Cutlass at the beginning, after the hemi-powered 41 Willys Gasser Coupe, some funny cars, and rocket powered funny car drag racing and tons of scenes in this movie!
3. Vanishing Point (1971) – Kowalski is a delivery driver who is a white 1970 Dodge Challenger from Colorado to supply San Francisco. He does this by speeding up all the time, creating the world’s largest car chase! Chased by police all the time!
2. Two-Lane asphalt (1971) – Who are all of a sudden? This film! What we need is a driver, mechanic, a girl, a guy with the GTO, a Chevy Gasser 55 and some random hitchhikers on making the film a big car! This film is about cars and nothing else! You can see a nice 55 Chevy and almost every scene like a GTO to hear. The film opens with and ends with the Drag Race!
1. American Graffiti (1973) – Is this really a surprise to any of you? Nothing but a classic car, cruise, fun great music, humor, some races and have! We get a nice, but piss yellow 32 Ford driven by 327, a 58 Chevy Bel Air is also supported by 327, a girl with a bird T-56 and 55 Chevy black (actually one of the Two Lane asphalt). This film is really all about cars, do not come of age. The film ends with a big confrontation between 32 and 55 Ford Chevy!
